Build Up, Support, and Strengthen the Church Family
The mission of Bread to the Nations is to build up and support the Church and Family in Haiti. Our first goal is to deepen the relationships and provide encouragement to the local church and its leaders one church at a time.
Building Strong Families
Building Strong Families (BSF) is an initiative Pastor Firmin started in Blessings Christian Church in 2015. The BSF families meet regularly to pray, encourage each other and to seek ways to best come alongside the needs of others in the church. BttN works closely with the BSF leaders to learn from them and to help identify and prioritize the needs of the church.
Audio Bibles
Bread to the Nations is committed to coming alongside our leaders in Haiti and the Dominican Republic to help ensure the overall well being of families. The first priority is to help encourage their faith walk by giving them access to God’s Word. In Haiti, it’s estimated that only 40% of people are able to read and only a few own a Bible, the Audio Bible is the perfect solution for bringing the Word to each family.
Education for Haiti’s Future Leaders
In Haiti, going to school is a privilege. Most schools are private and families are required to pay for tuition, books and uniforms. Many families cannot afford to send their children to school, let alone a good quality school. Without the support of BttN, most of these children would either be attending poor schools or not attending school at all.
Home Building
When teams travel through Bread to the Nations to help build a home, the main purpose for going is not specifically to build a home; we go to build relationships, encourage our brothers and sisters, pray with them and have fellowship with them, and if we can help make life easier, all the better.
Clean Water
Bread to the Nations’ leaders researched options to bring clean water to our partnering church communities in Haiti. Through our research we concluded that bio-sand water filter systems are the best long term solution in Haiti. Clean Water for Haiti (CWH) is an organization that employs Haitians to build and install bio-sand filters in Haiti.
Widow Support
Each month, Bread to the Nations sends local nurses to the homes of the widows to ensure they receive the proper food, medications and understanding/education they need to care for their own health.
